Getting Here

How to Get to Santa Teresa

There are many ways to get to the blue zone of Santa Teresa on the Nicoya Peninsula. Here are the best options.

By Plane

Costa Rica has several domestic airlines that connect the most popular destinations. The flight from San José to Tambor takes 20 minutes and offers a great view of the Nicoya Peninsula. From Tambor, you can reach us in 40 minutes by taxi or rental car.

By Public Transport

The bus network in Costa Rica is very well developed. From San José, the Nicoya Peninsula bus runs twice a day for $15 including the ferry — the trip takes about 6 hours. Alternatively, private shuttles offer a more comfortable option.

By Car

The drive takes about 6 hours from San José to Puntarenas, then a 1h20 ferry to Paquera. From there, drive to Cobano and turn left towards Mal Pais — don't follow the GPS straight ahead! We highly recommend renting a 4x4 for maximum flexibility.
